The Battery – SunTrust Park, whatever you call it, is a very up and coming hot spot in Atlanta. If you are familiar with Atlanta then you know it is not technically in the perimeter, but I think it’s close enough. I love hanging out here because there are so many shops, restaurants, bars, games, and of course the Braves stadium!
Braves Game – When I go to a Braves game, I don’t normally stay seated. Now don’t get me wrong, I love going to sporting events, but there are so many things around the stadium that are fun to do! I end up watching maybe 20 minutes and walking around for the remainder of the game! Having tickets to the game gives me an excuse to make the drive out to The Battery. (Tickets are sometimes as low as $15 for seats in the 200’s sections)
Shopping – There are some shops on your way into the stadium. In the photo above, I am shopping in Dress Up. It’s a southern boutique with several locations across the south. It has mostly basics with a twist! Another I love to visit is Sugarboo & Co. This is more of a farmhouse chic home decor boutique. They sell decor, stationary, and trinkets.
Restaurants – In the above picture, I am eating the loaded pulled pork nachos in the stadium. It was freakin’ delicious and highly recommend if you are hungry while watching the game. If you are at The Battery, but don’t plan on going to a game, there are actual restaurants in the area. The only place I have tried so far is El Felix, and I love it! All of the ingredients are fresh (you can taste the freshness of the tortillas in the tacos) and so good! There is also Wahlburgers, which I heard good things about, I am not a burger person so I wouldn’t know. One place that I do want to try is Antico Pizza. There is a location by Georgia Tech and it is delicious!
Playing Games/Hanging with Friends – Now here’s the fun part of this post. There are numerous bars/hang out places around. After 10pm the bars turn into 21 and up only! Live! has numerous games to choose from like skeeball, pong, checkers, etc. and it is connected to PBR which has a mechanical bull. Punchbowl has 4 bowling alleys, karaoke, virtual reality, Scrabble, Ping Pong, Jenga, among other board games. If you are looking for the typical bar scene of dancing and lights, etc. you probably won’t find that here. The bars are more for hanging out with friends and enjoying conversation while playing games!
I would highly recommend checking out The Battery if you are visiting, or have guests visiting! It is the perfect place to catch up with friends and just hang out!
I hope you enjoyed my first blog post! I would love to hear about your experience with The Battery and if you had a good time and what you liked or disliked about it in the comments!
