Golden Milk – The Power-Ranger

Dairyfree golden milk is loaded with antioxidants,calcium,protein,vitamins and has anti-inflammatory properties.It has numerous medicinal benefits,like- relieves joint pain,cold and flue,good for pcos and diabetes,releives menstrual cramps,good for skin etc.The key ingredient in this milk is turmeric, giving this milk a beautiful yellow colour.

The most important compounds in tuemeric are called curcuminoids, the most important of which is curcumin.Curcumin is the main active ingredient in turmeric. It has powerful anti-inflammatory effects and is a very strong antioxidant.

Oxidative damage is believed to be one of the mechanisms behind aging and many diseases.It involves free radicals, highly reactive molecules with unpaired electrons.Free radicals tend to react with important organic substances, such as fatty acids, proteins or DNA.The main reason antioxidants are so beneficial is that they protect your body from free radicals.Curcumin is a potent antioxidant that can neutralize free radicals due to its chemical structure.In addition, curcumin boosts the activity of your body’s own antioxidant enzymes.

Now,lets get back to the recipe:

1/2 cups almond milk,
1/2 cup coconut milk,
1/2 tsp turmeric powder or 1tbsp grated fresh turmeric,
1/2 tsp grated fresh ginger,
Pinch of cardamom powder,
1/4 tsp cinnamon powder.

Add almond milk, coconut milk, turmeric, and ginger to a saucepan over medium-high heat.Bring to boil and reduce heat to simmer for 5 minutes, Remove from heat and strain. Add honey,cardamom powder,cinnamon powder and stir.
Dairyfree golden milk is ready to serve!
